Sambhv Steel Tubes Accelerates Expansion with Capacity Additions and Greenfield Projects

Sambhv Steel Tubes Limited has outlined an aggressive expansion roadmap aimed at increasing its finished products capacity over the next four to five years. The company is scaling up stainless steel and ERW pipes production while investing in new manufacturing facilities and captive power infrastructure to strengthen its integrated operations.

As part of its expansion strategy, Sambhv Steel Tubes has received Consent to Operate (CTO) for doubling the capacity of its stainless steel cold-rolled (CR) coil facility at Kuthrel from 58,000 MTPA to 116,000 MTPA. The company has also secured Consent to Establish (CTE) for setting up a new 118,000 MTPA stainless steel CR coil facility at Kuthrel Unit II, marking another significant addition to its value-added product portfolio.

Looking ahead, Sambhv plans to increase its finished products capacity from 0.68 million MTPA to over 2 million MTPA through a phased greenfield expansion at Kesda and Kuthrel Unit II. Phase I includes the installation of 0.36 million MTPA stainless steel coil capacity, targeted for commissioning by Q4 FY27.

The company is also undertaking a brownfield expansion of its ERW Pipes & Tubes business, adding 150,000 MTPA of capacity. To improve operational efficiency and energy security, Sambhv will establish a 25 MW captive power plant at Kesda, add a 30 MW power plant at its Sarora Unit III, and install an 8 MW rooftop solar power plant at Kuthrel.
