John Cockerill achieves a major milestone with first coil production at Tata Steel Kalinganagar’s new automotive-grade continuous galvanizing line.

John Cockerill, a global leader in industrial engineering, has successfully produced the first coil on the Continuous Galvanizing Line 1 at Tata Steel’s Kalinganagar plant. The milestone, achieved on 9 June 2025, marks a key achievement in the ongoing collaboration between the two companies.

The newly commissioned galvanizing line, supplied by John Cockerill, is designed for manufacturing coated steels for the automotive sector. The company confirmed that the startup phase was completed without any safety incidents and that the first coil met all expected quality benchmarks.
