Jindal India has commissioned a new downstream steel facility in West Bengal with an annual production capacity of 0.6 million tonnes, marking a significant expansion of its operations. Built at a cost of INR 1,500 crore, the facility boosts the company’s overall steel production capacity by 60%, from 1 million tonnes to 1.6 million tonnes per year.
The new plant will strengthen Jindal India’s portfolio across key product segments, enhancing capacity for coated flat products by 60%, pipe products by 40%, and crash barrier products by 75%. The company expects the expansion to drive a sharp increase in sales revenue over the coming years.
