AMNS Receives Environmental Clearance for 8.2 Million MT Greenfield Steel Plant

ArcelorMittal Nippon Steel (AMNS) has secured a nod for its 8.2 million mt mega integrated steel plant from the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change. Industries Minister TG Bharat confirmed that 6,000 acres have been acquired and the project is part of Andhra Pradesh’s wider push to attract large-scale industrial investments.

The project’s first phase involves establishing an 8.2 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) blast furnace facility with an investment of INR 80,000 crore. Construction is expected to begin within this calendar year. In the second phase, capacity will be expanded to 24 million TPA with a total investment exceeding INR 1.5 lakh crore.
