AM/NS India will formally begin work on the country’s largest greenfield plant in Andhra Pradesh, expanding its presence in the Southeastern coast.

AM/NS India, a joint venture of ArcelorMittal and Japan’s Nippon Steel, will formally begin work on the country’s largest greenfield plant in Andhra Pradesh, expanding its presence in the Southeastern coast.
The company will invest INR 70,000 crore, adding 8.2 million tonnes of capacity in the first phase of expansion. The government has earlier allotted 2,200 acres of land for this project, located near Visakhapatnam port in Nov 2024.

The project is expected to be completed near the end of 2030, focusing on downstream lines and import substitution.
