ABB India announced the completion of a comprehensive modernization project for Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited’s (BPCL) Vadinar–Bina pipeline, a key energy corridor supplying crude oil to the Bina refinery. The 935-kilometre pipeline, with a capacity of 7.80 million metric tonnes per annum, remained fully operational during the upgrade, ensuring zero disruption to crude supplies.
The project included a full upgrade of ABB’s Ability™ SCADAvantage system, replacement of 35 Remote Terminal Units across critical stations, and installation of new SCADA servers at both terminals.
ABB also strengthened cyber security through network protection, system hardening, centralized monitoring, and deployment of failover and disaster recovery systems.
