The Avon Group’s legacy began in 1952, founded by the visionary Shri Hans Raj Pahwa. He pioneered India’s cycle industry, starting from a modest workshop and expanding to envision a steel revolution. In 1970, under the leadership of Shri Inderjit Singh Pahwa, the company strategically expanded into steel manufacturing. This marked the beginning of backward integration, as Avon began producing steel specially for its bicycle manufacturing operations. This led to the establishment of Avon Steel.

In 1999, Avon Steel Industries Private Limited formally established, marking a significant milestone with the commencement of hot rolled coil and steel tube production. In the 2000s, Avon Steel Industries installed the state-of-the-art German-engineered ERW hot strip mill, significantly increasing annual production capacity to 300,000 metric tons. Avon Steel Industries is now exporting steel tubes, expanding its reach to the international market.

Manufacturing Infrastructure and Capacity
Avon Steel Industries Private Limited operates state-of-the-art manufacturing facilities in Ludhiana, to produce HR coils and steel tubes with exceptional precision and customization capabilities. The company’s infrastructure supports a total installed capacity of 3,00,000 metric tons of HR coils, guaranteeing a reliable supply of feedstock for steel tube manufacturing. We are steadfast in our commitment to augmenting our capacity to address the escalating industry demands, while simultaneously prioritizing innovation and environmental sustainability.

At Avon Steel Industries Private Limited, based on the manufacturing our whole product line can be classified into three categories. The HR coils are used for the infrastructure, automotive and manufacturing sector. The HR coils are feedstock for our steel tube manufacturing. The size range for the HR coils, thickness from 1.2 mm to 8mm and width from 150mm to 520mm.

Thereafter, we have steel round tube size ranges from 15 NB to 250 NB, 16 x 16 mm to 200 x 200 mm in SHS and 26 x 13 mm to 250 x 150 mm in RHS which are widely used in water pipeline systems, agriculture, irrigation, construction and infrastructure.

Lastly, we have GI tubes that are used for fire-fighting purposes, scaffolding and infrastructure like highways, solar panels, real estate, tunnels and bridges.

Sustainability and Green Manufacturing Practices
At Avon Steel Industries, sustainability is at the core of our operations. Our state-of-the-art Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) operates on a Zero Liquid Discharge principle, ensuring that wastewater from our Galvanization Plant is treated and recycled with utmost efficiency. With a capacity to process 50 KLD of rinsing waste effluent and 1 KLD of chrome waste effluent. A multi-effect evaporator with a 20 KLD capacity, along with an agitated thin film dryer and a paddle dryer, further enhances the treatment process, reinforcing our commitment to water conservation and environmental compliance.

In our pursuit of sustainable energy solutions, we have invested significantly in solar power generation. By harnessing the power of solar energy, we not only contribute to a cleaner environment but also achieve greater energy independence and operational cost savings.
