This was revealed by Mr. Rohit Pareek, GM-Business Development, BST Infratech, during an interaction with Tube & Pipe India magazine.
Tube & Pipe India: Please tell us about BST Infratech, its mission and vision.
Rohit Pareek: BST Infratech Limited, started operating in the year 2007 with a desire to provide viable solutions for low quality ERW pipes sold in the market at that time. BSTL pipes have been the no.1 choice of its large network of dealers and distributors that is spread all over India, established with the purpose of making its products easily available. Our dealers have found our pipes to be more durable, better priced and superior than others. BSTL MS and GI pipes that are used in fabrication and construction works are sold after passing through several quality checks. Best available raw materials are procured for improved quality products. The quality of these pipes has been praised by prominent public and private organizations.
The mission of the company is to maintain high standards of precision, quality in all our deliverables and to leave Indian footprints in the global infrastructure industry backed by world class performance and operational excellence. The stability of these pipes make them suitable to be used in large projects and assignments.
The success of the company is very much evident from the high popularity and demand for its ERW pipes. The optimism, commitment and the passion of our company and our team has propelled us to this position. We are putting in all the effort and hard work to take us further in this dynamic industry. TPI: Brief us about your product portfolio, its application areas and your production capabilities.
RP: BST Infratech Limited is an ISO 9001 and 14001 certified company. Presently, it produces more than 100 items of (round, square & rectangle) M.S. ERW pipes and (round & square) GI pipes within the size range of 15 NB – 100 NB. These are mainly used in structural and general engineering purposes. The annual production capacity of pipes is currently 2 lakh MT approximately with a targeted growth in production up to 2.5 lakh MT by the end of 2024.
Our MS pipes have a seam finish, which are welded through the Electric Resistance Welding method and are cut to specific lengths according to the customer’s specifications. Our range of products consist of MS HR strips, MS & GI pipes, metal beam crash barriers, MS wire rod & HB wire, swaged type steel poles, power transmission tower, railway OHE galvanized structures and cantilever bracket tubes/guide tube. The total amount of dispatch and production presently is approximately 5-6 lac MTPA. We aim to expand our Dealers & Distributors Network by ten times by 2025.
TPI: BSTL has bagged numerous awards & participated in several events. Kindly share details on the same.
RP: BSTL has received prestigious awards like ET Industry Leaders East 2023, CIA World Construction & Infra Awards 2023 for its MS round, square & rectangle pipes and metal beam crash barriers, and many more in the past.
BSTL has participated in various exhibitions around the country in the last 10 years like Tube & Pipe Fair 2023, New Delhi, Tube India Exhibition, Mumbai, 2018 & 2022 etc.
TPI: Shed light on your infrastructure setup and your manufacturing units.
RP: In 2007, the company began operating its plant in a limited area in Jamuria Industrial Estate in West Bengal by producing high quality ERW pipes. Keeping up with the success of the organization, the total area has now surpassed more than 25 acres. Similarly our equipment and machineries have been upgraded. It has sheds for fabrication work installed with the latest technological infrastructure.
Our factory with a progressive structural mill houses a galvanizing plant that produces premium GI pipes for water supply, plumbing and sewerage constructions in rural and urban areas. It has in-house on line hydro testing arrangements in the factory to ensure that our pipes meet the standards and requirements of our customers always. A lot of attention is paid to upkeep and update the training rooms for the purpose of development of employees on a regular basis.
BSTL is approved for transmission up to the rating of 765kVA in PGCIL for supplying the G.I. structures. The company plans to expand the total area of the factory to include more machineries and pipe processing plants to increase the production by the upcoming 5 years.

TPI: A good team plays a very important role in an organization’s success. What are your thoughts on the same?
RP: The growth and success of BST Infratech Limited is solely dependent on the team work done by the MDs & directors with its employees. At the beginning, the company could employ a small team of technicians and laborers. In the last two decades, the strength of the employees was not only increased but a dedicated Research and Development unit consisting of the best minds in the steel industry was also set up.
Appropriate training and evaluation are provided to all the workers so that they can enthusiastically do their work better. BSTL takes pride in the fact that it has invested its resources well into the areas that have elevated and maintained its status in the PAN India MS ERW and GI pipes market.
TPI: What are your future plans with regards to serving the industry?
RP: Industrial growth and development in India have often been measured by its usage of iron & steel products. Sadly, for a long period of time, the kind of steel pipes sold in the market were exceptionally high in costs and low in standard. Durability was affected as red rusted would weaken the pipes. BSTL, since 2007 has secured the position of a trailblazer in the PAN India tube & pipe market by manufacturing MS & GI pipes that surpass the expectations of its customers.
Being duty bound towards its customers, the company wants to continue with the work that is marked by innovation and quality. Several plans have been made for the expansion and growth of its manufacturing units. New kinds of machineries and equipment are to be bought to streamline the production of pipes by the next few years.
As mentioned before, new dealers and distributors existing on PAN India basis are being actively appointed so that our products may reach those locations where people still have to compromise with low quality steel products.
