Tube & Pipe India: Please briefly outline your company’s tube and pipe product focus, including key materials, product types, and principal end-use sectors.

Daniel Brenner: With the ByTube Star 130, we have one of the fastest and most accurate tube and profile lasers for the small diameter tube market. The ByTube Star 330, on the other hand, is an extremely versatile machine for large tube diameters, but can also process small diameters. Our machines are suitable for processing mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and brass. By using up to 10kW in combination with mixed gas, we achieve the best qualities.

TPI: Within your core product segments, how would you characterize current demand conditions and order visibility?

DB: Stable growth can be seen in the tube market worldwide, which is significantly stronger than for flat steel.

TPI: Which customer or application requirements are currently exerting the greatest pressure on quality, uniformity, or on-time delivery within your product range?

DB: Bystronic’s core competence is our cutting process, with which we produce the best quality product ranges in the shortest possible production time. Bystronic’s internal pressure is to fulfill its own requirements and ensure best quality and highest productivity with constant new innovations. The external pressure comes more from an economic point of view and from Asian and Chinese competitors. However, this pressure can be countered with solid European quality work and a fast and absolutely satisfying service.

TPI: How are material selection, grade complexity, or specification tightening influencing your manufacturing or quality-control practices?

DB: There is no great influence here because Bystronic, as a Swiss quality manufacturer, uses only the best materials and the best equipment to cover all requirements worldwide with ease.

TPI: Which process disciplines, automation measures, or quality-assurance practices have delivered the most tangible improvements in yield or rework reduction?

DB: Bystronic has a standardized quality concept for all our plants worldwide which is based on the top-notch global requirements and guidelines and is complemented by decades of experience.

TPI: How are cost pressures across raw materials, energy, or logistics being managed without compromising product reliability or compliance?

DB: Our priority is to deliver the highest quality machines to tube manufacturers, enabling them to offer some of the best products in the market. Our procurement team works successfully according to the Swiss model, and our suppliers value the credibility that comes with partnering with us.

TPI: How are sustainability expectations from customers or regulators translating into changes in product design, manufacturing practices, or material choices?

DB: As Bystronic always has the highest standards for itself, as described above, additional regulations or higher expectations are no challenge for us and are usually implemented effortlessly.

TPI: Looking ahead, within your core product portfolio, which applications or performance requirements are most likely to drive incremental investment?

DB: We are currently developing a tube and profile laser for medium diameters. Of course, a new development always requires a high level of investment. But at the same time, we will continuously invest in improving our machines, both software and hardware. The goal for Bystronic is to reach 10% market share worldwide by 2030. Of course, this requires investments in all areas such as service, sales and marketing.

TPI: How do you see India as a market?

DB: India is a very interesting market with extremely high growth potential. We need to particularly keep an eye on the tube market.
