Cognor Holding to Build Steel Rolling Mill Plant in Poland Worth USD 199.72 Million

Spread over an area of 54,000 sq mt, the new rolling mill will include modern production shops and infrastructure facilities.

Cognor Holding S.A. is constructing a large-scale steel rolling plant in the Polish city of Siemianowice Śląskie, on the territory of the former Jedność rolling mill. 

Spread over an area of 54,000 square meters, the new rolling mill worth USD 199.72 million will include modern production shops and infrastructure facilities. The main buildings of the complex will be three large production shops.

As per the leading Polish steelmaker, the construction is expected to complete in December 2024, and production is expected to start in the first quarter of 2025.

The complex will also include warehouse and administrative facilities, including a fully automated high-bay warehouse, the first-of-its-kind in Europe, as well as the latest energy-saving and environmentally friendly installations that minimize harmful emissions and energy losses. Cognor Holding says the new engineering solutions will help make the production process as efficient and environmentally friendly as possible. In June-July, the company started assembling the plant’s equipment, which is capable of producing 450,000 tons of products per year.
