As part of its large-scale expansion and future diversification goals, Electrosteel Castings, a leading producer of ductile iron (DI) pipes in India, has announced plans to establish a new DI pipe and fittings plant in Odisha.
An official of the company said that the board of Electrosteel Castings recently approved a proposal to set up the plant and acquire a 500-acre plot in Odisha for the purpose.
The company was working out the capacity and investment needed for the new plant. It should be ready in a couple of months, he added.

Electrosteel Castings is also expanding the capacity of its Srikalahasthi Works in Andhra Pradesh by 150,000 tonnes at an estimated investment of INR 64 crore. This expansion will be operational within a year, taking ECL’s combined capacity to 1 million tonnes.
