Tube & Pipe India: Can you please tell us about your company, product portfolio and production capacity?

Mahesh Garg: We started in 1987 with nearly INR 3 crore, and now we’re an estimated INR 4,000 crore company till last year. Goodluck India Limited is one the largest steel products manufacturer and exporter, with a current production capacity of 4,50,000 metric tonnes per annum, which is likely to be increased this year to 6,00,000 metric tonnes per annum. With 6 manufacturing units located across Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat, and 6 warehouses spread all over India, our company exports to over 100 countries globally.

In 2024, the company had raised INR 200 crore through QIP. Goodluck India continues to focus on driving growth through strategic investments in technology, product diversification, and expanding its global footprint, with a strong commitment to quality, innovation, and sustainability.

TPI: You’ve recently secured an INR 520 million order for the Bullet Train project (Ahmedabad-Mumbai) under your engineering structures vertical. What does this order mean for the company, and how does it align with your company’s overall growth strategy?

MG: We secured an INR 520 million order under our engineering structures vertical for the Ahmedabad–Mumbai Bullet Train, covering the design and fabrication of bridges totaling 22,000 metric tonnes of steel. To date, we’ve successfully supplied approximately 16,000 metric tonnes. It will likely be completed by January 2026.

The project recently introduced a new design requirement for a sea bridge, which we have fully engineered and are now fabricating.

In FY 24-25, we significantly bolstered capacity across engineering structures, precision pipes, and cold rolled sheets and pipes to drive forward our long-term strategic growth and operational efficiency.

TPI: Tell us about Goodluck India’s new hydraulic tubes manufacturing plant situated at Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh. What investments did you make on this project? How will this new plant impact your overall tube and pipe business?

MG: We invested around INR 250 crore in the hydraulic tube manufacturing plant in Bulandshahr, Uttar Pradesh, which was inaugurated in January 2025. It is one of the few plants in the world, wherein tubes made out of it will be used to make the hydraulic cylinders. With an annual production capacity of 50,000 tonnes, this Uttar Pradesh plant is expected to generate additional revenue of INR 500 crore. These high-precision hydraulic tubes are poised to replace imports of seamless tubes, acting as a significant import substitute and offering foreign exchange savings while boosting topline and bottom-line growth.

These hydraulic tubes will be in industries like construction machinery, light commercial vehicles and industrial equipment. In India, there’s a huge demand with increasing construction. There won’t be any dearth of orders. We will also be supplying to the construction and development industry of Mexico, USA, Canada and Europe.

TPI: With significant capacity additions across engineering structures, precision pipes, and CR sheets & pipes in FY24-25, what is your strategy and objective behind these expansions? How have your capacities enhanced over time?

MG: In FY24-25, we significantly bolstered capacity across engineering structures, precision pipes, and cold rolled sheets and pipes to drive forward our long-term strategic growth and operational efficiency. In 2024, Goodluck India had inaugurated its manufacturing facility in Ghaziabad. This cutting-edge plant marks a new era for the production of large-diameter cold drawn welded (CDW) and electric resistance welded (ERW) precision steel tubes. The facility will add an additional 50,000 metric tonnes per annum to the company’s existing precision tube production, raising the total to 1,66,000 metric tonnes. The CDW facility is currently in the production ramp-up phase, with full-scale production expected by Sep- Oct 2025 to meet targeted demand.

In the next 5 years, the sector will flourish in India with the rise in demand for infrastructure. Earlier, structured pipes were not in use, but for the last 10 years, especially in India, there’s been a surge in demand.

TPI: Goodluck India (Defence and Aerospace) is set to begin trial production in Q1 FY26. Could you share more about the plant, its product capacities, and how it aligns with India’s growing focus on self-reliance in the defence and aerospace sectors?

MG: A key focus this year has been our over INR 250 crore investment in the defense subsidiary- this facility is due for commissioning and capitalization in FY26. Goodluck India Limited is set to commence trial production in Q1 FY26 at the new manufacturing facility of its subsidiary, M/s Goodluck Defence and Aerospace Ltd, located in Sikandrabad, Bulandshahr district, Uttar Pradesh. The plant, a strategic priority since Q4 FY25 due to its importance to high-value sectors, is designed to produce approximately 1,50,000 precision components annually. Commercial production is expected to begin by the end of Q2 FY26. The facility will offer end-to-end advanced manufacturing capabilities including forging, machining, heat treatment, and coating of steel, stainless steel, special steels, and alloys.

It is specifically tailored to serve the dynamic and growing needs of the defence and aerospace industries, further strengthening Goodluck India’s position in these high-growth, technology-intensive sectors.
