Union Steel Minister HD Kumaraswamy opens up about the government plans to revive Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Limited (RINL). He said the Finance Ministry is committed to supporting the recovery of RINL through innovative financial mechanisms and debt restructuring.
RINL is the corporate entity of Visakhapatnam steel plant. It is the first shore-based integrated steel plant in the country, known for its quality products.
He emphasized that RINL’s revival will bolster India’s manufacturing capabilities, reduce dependence on imports, and play a pivotal role in fulfilling the infrastructure & industrial needs outlined in the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047.

He further discussed the collaborative efforts between the Ministries of Steel and Finance to ensure that the state-owned steel plant regained its former stature as a national industrial asset.
