Godawari Power & Ispat Ltd. received PGCIL approval to supply HT steel billets, enabling full-range galvanized structure manufacturing.

Godawari Power & Ispat Limited (GPIL) has secured approval from Power Grid Corporation of India Limited. (PGCIL) for its HT steel billets conforming to IS 14650 standards. This approval, valid until 1 July 2026, enables GPIL to supply the entire range of HT steel billets for use in galvanized fabricated steel structures in PGCIL’s transmission projects.
Previously constrained by high external billet costs, GPIL can now manufacture a complete product range in-house, enhancing business volumes and profitability. Notably, GPIL is the only Indian firm producing galvanized structures from iron ore to finished product.

The company was already manufacturing Galvanized Fabricated Steel Structure, however, in view of non-availability of steel billets GPIL was not able to offer entire range of Galvanized Steel Structures to the Contractors of PGCIL, as the cost was very high for Galvanized Structures manufactured from HT billets purchased from market. Now with the approval of. HT Billets of the Company by PGCIL, the Company will be able to offer the entire range of Galvanized Steel Structures, which is expected to increase business volumes and profitability.
