Group Five Pipe Saudi Company (Group Five) has secured a contract worth more than USD 800 million to supply pipes for phase two of the Riyadh to Ras al-Khair water transmission system (WTS) project. The Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC) of Saudi Arabia awarded the contract to Group Five, marking a significant step forward in the project’s development. Group Five will manufacture and supply spiral-welded steel pipes for the project.
The second phase of the Riyadh to Ras al-Khair WTS project is expected to extend 391 kilometers, transmitting 1.2 million cubic metres a day of water. The Riyadh-Ras al-Khair water transmission system is a critical infrastructure project for Saudi Arabia, aimed at addressing the growing demand for water in the capital city and surrounding regions. The project is part of a broader USD 6.7 billion water transmission program undertaken by the Water Transmission & Technologies Company (WTTCO) to improve potable water delivery.
