Jindal Steel Limited targets higher FY27 output with Angul ramp-up, AI integration, slurry pipeline commissioning and sustained INR 7,500- INR 10,000 crore capex.

Jindal Steel Limited said its Angul expansion has increased steelmaking capacity from 9.6 million tonnes per annum (MTPA) to 15.6 MTPA, marking a key milestone in its growth strategy. The company has guided for FY27 production of 11 million-11.5 million tonnes and sales of 10.5 million-11 million tonnes as newly commissioned capacities ramp up.
Management said the focus will now shift towards improving utilisation and operational efficiency rather than pursuing another large expansion cycle immediately. The Barbil-to-Angul slurry pipeline is expected to be commissioned in Q1FY27 and is likely to improve logistics efficiency and lower transportation costs.
The company also highlighted its AI-led digital transformation through JARVIS, Jindal AI for real-time visibility, intelligence and systems, integrating production, sales and operational data across plants.

Jindal Steel said annual capex and sustenance spending is expected at INR 7,500 crore- INR 10,000 crore going forward as the current expansion programme nears completion.
