Jindal Steel Limited has commissioned the Bhagavati Subhadrika Blast Furnace – II at its Angul facility, marking a significant milestone in Indian steelmaking.

With this commissioning, Angul becomes the largest single-location steel plant in Odisha, and Jindal Steel moves closer to its plan of ramping up the site’s steelmaking capacity to 12 million tonnes per annum (MTPA).

The newly launched blast furnace is equipped with advanced automation, state-of-the-art technology, and sustainability-focused features, reinforcing Jindal Steel’s commitment to Atmanirbhar Bharat and global competitiveness. The company highlighted that the furnace represents a blend of tradition and innovation, positioning Angul as a central hub in its growth strategy.
