Germany-based SMS Group has announced that JSW Vijayanagar Metallics (JVML), a subsidiary of JSW Steel, has commissioned a new Ruhrstahl Heraeus (RH) vacuum degassing unit at its Vijayanagar plant in Karnataka.
The RH vacuum treatment allows JVML to produce cleaner steel with robust mechanical properties, meeting the requirement of various sectors such as construction, infrastructure, automotive and energy sectors.

The new unit represents a significant change in production capacity and grade flexibility, maximising the mill’s operational efficiency while maintaining safety.
