The Government of Andhra Pradesh has officially approved JSW Group’s proposal to establish a large-scale steel plant in Sunnapurallapalle village, located in YSR Kadapa district. The project will be developed in two phases, with a total planned investment of INR 16,350 crore and the potential to generate employment for approximately 2,500 people.
The first phase of the project will see an initial investment of INR 4,500 crore. To support the development, the state government has allotted 1,100 acres of land to JSW at a concessional rate of INR 5 lakh per acre. According to the state’s mandate, construction of Phase 1 must commence by January 2026 and reach completion by April 2026. Commercial production under this phase is scheduled to begin by January 2029.
The second phase will involve an additional INR 11,850 crore investment. Construction for this phase is planned to begin in January 2031, with production expected by April 2034.

This strategic expansion aligns with Andhra Pradesh’s vision to boost industrial infrastructure and create employment opportunities in the region, while also supporting JSW Steel’s growth plans in southern India.
