Strategic Capacity Expansion and Technological Advancements
The company is pursuing a phased capacity expansion with major projects at Raipur and Mangaon. At Raipur, capacity is being doubled to 2,00,000 MTPA, adding 200 new SKUs with a focus on value-added products. The Mangaon facility is set to reach 5,00,000 MTPA in March 2025 with Direct Forming Technology (DFT), enabling faster, more flexible, and customized production. Together, these sites will boost output, enhance product diversity, and support global expansion into markets like the US, Canada, and Mexico.
In addition, the company is diversifying into galvanising lines, cold rolling, and colour coating, while also entering the niche copper and brass foil segment to reduce alloy dependence and serve defence and industrial sectors. The goal is to grow the share of high-margin, value-added products to 50–55% by FY 2026-27, supported by a broader vision of flexibility, innovation, and strategic expansion.
Growth in Indian Tube and Pipe Industry- The Way Forward
The steel pipes & tubes market in India generated revenue of around USD 11.8 billion in 2022, with forecasts projecting growth to USD 17.6 billion by 2030, implying a CAGR of roughly 5–6%.
Another report shows the steel pipes market size at 13.56 million tonnes in 2024, expected to nearly double to 27.76 million tonnes by 2033, translating to a CAGR of approximately 7.7%.
Rapid expansion of urban infrastructure—Smart Cities, AMRUT, housing schemes like PM Awas Yojana—is driving the demand for pipes across MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing), conduits, sewage systems, and drinking water supply. Moreover, DFT finds applications in diverse end-use industries including metros and railways stations, building and construction, hospitals, schools and other infrastructural needs. Thus the steel tube and pipe industry continues to fuel India’s strategic growth and expansion story.
Sustainability, Growth Drivers, and Organisational Resilience
We champion the cause of sustainability, ensuring it influences key decisions across procurement, energy usage, water recycling, and governance frameworks. To optimize the benefits from such a firm integration, we are strengthening our reporting and data tracking practices. This ensures that ESG goals become measurable, actionable, and visible to all our stakeholders. No matter how much we grow and expand, we are dedicated to ensuring that we have a positive impact on the environment, our communities, and the people who
work with us.
The ingredients of our success are also drivers of our growth: scale, technology, capital, product diversity, and a stable cost structure. Now, our focus is on building on these and executing with intent—entering newer markets, expanding customer relationships, and delivering a wider product mix. Not to forget, we look to perform on all counts without compromising on rigorous cost discipline and operational efficiency. We recognise that our organisation is no longer defined by its products; rather, it is perceived by how well we adapt, respond, and lead. Therefore, we are eager not only to set benchmarks, but to do so confidently. We don’t just chase volumes—we make every move count.
