Primetals Technologies announced the appointment of Koji Sakatani as Chief Executive Officer (CEO), succeeding Yoshiharu Ikeda who will retire. Mr. Sakatani brings decades of experience in the heavy industry sector, including extensive leadership roles with a focus on strategic initiatives.

He began his career at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited and has held several global positions including Head of Strategy at Primetals Technologies. Most recently, he served as Vice President, Plants and Infrastructure Systems at Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Limited.

Effective April 1, he will also take on the role of global Chief Financial Officer of Primetals Technologies on an interim basis from the current CFO Andreas Weinhengst who will retire.
