Lloyds Metals & Energy to Launch Major Steel Project in Gadchiroli

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will lay the foundation stone for Lloyds Metals & Energy Limited’s (LMEL) upcoming 4.5 million tonne steel plant at Konsari on July 22, 2025, along with  5 million tonnes per annum) iron ore grinding unit at Hedri and 10 million tonnes per annum capacity slurry pipeline stretching 85 kilometers from Hedri to Konsari, building cost-effectiveness and reliable material handling solution across LMEL’s operations.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will lay the foundation stone for Lloyds Metals & Energy Limited’s (LMEL) upcoming 4.5 million tonne steel plant at Konsari on July 22, 2025, marking a significant step toward developing Gadchiroli as a key steel production hub.

As part of the same event, the Chief Minister will also inaugurate LMEL’s newly constructed 5 million tonnes per annum iron ore grinding unit at Hedri. The facility, completed within just one year, plays a vital role in LMEL’s growing steel value chain.

Additionally, a 10 million tonnes per annum  capacity slurry pipeline stretching 85 kilometers from Hedri to Konsari will be launched. This pipeline ensures a continuous and eco-efficient flow of iron ore, cutting the carbon footprint of logistics by 55% and improving the cost-effectiveness and reliability of material handling across LMEL’s operations.

Earlier, Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) has initiated acquisition of approximately 3,500 acres of land in  Wadsa taluka, Gadchiroli,  paving way for JSW Group’s proposed 25 million tonnes per annum steel facility.
