MetTube Copper India Private Limited will invest over INR 1,000 crores to set up a new copper tube manufacturing plant in Sanand, as per the MoU signed with the Gujarat state government. The plant shall be the first copper tube manufacturing plant in India to make fifth-generation copper tubes.

MetTube Copper India has finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the State Government of Gujarat to set up a copper tube manufacturing plant in Sanand, Gujarat, wherein, the first phase shall require an investment of INR 1,000 crores.
The plant, one of the first copper tube manufacturing factories in India, will manufacture fifth-generation copper tubes, and help reduce carbon footprint, and is among the series of steps taken toward a self-reliant India. The first phase of construction shall also help in providing employment to 1,500 people, directly and indirectly.
Copper tubes are in massive demand by the refrigeration and air conditioning industries in India.
Mr. Bhupendra Patel, Chief Minister of Gujarat, and Mr. Apurva Bagri, Chairman of MetTube Copper India, signed the MoU in Gandhinagar, for the plant to be set up in a phased manner at Sanand Industrial Estate II.

MetTube Copper India Private Limited is the Indian unit of MetTube Copper, a copper tube manufacturing corporation in Malaysia. The company is a production-linked investor (PLI) scheme, setting up manufacturing plants for components used in the white goods sector.
