Odisha Invests INR 3,898.54 Crore Boosting the Steel and Other Sectors

Odisha’s single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) has approved 19 investment projects worth around INR 3,898.54 crore including the steel and steel products segment.

Odisha’s single window clearance authority (SLSWCA) headed by chief secretary Manoj Ahuja has approved 19 investment projects worth around INR 3,898.54 crore consisting of a diverse range of high-impact sectors, including steel, iron and ferro alloys, industrial gases, logistics, food and beverage, agro-processing, tourism and hospitality, chemicals, metal downstream, and apparel and textile. The investments will be made in 11 districts that include Angul, Balasore, Cuttack, Dhenkanal, Ganjam, Jajpur, Keonjhar, Khurda, Koraput, Sambalpur and Sundargarh.

Under these investments, the steel, iron and ferro alloys sector will experience a thrust with four investment proposals. The proposals worth INR 1,840 crore are set to enhance TATA Steel’s crude steel capacity from the proposed 6.5 million TPA to 7.1 million TPA, with an additional investment of INR 700 crore in Dhenkanal district. Additionally, in Keonjhar, Sree Metaliks Limited will invest INR 885 crore to expand its integrated steel plant. Lal Baba Seamless Tubes has planned to establish an INR 200 crore precision tube manufacturing facility in Cuttack.

With these investments several steel and steel product companies will get a major boost from the state government to increase its production capacity and meet the growing demands for steel and steel products.
