Sambhv Steel Tubes Limited and its wholly owned unit Sambhv Tubes Private Limited have signed separate Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with the Ministry of Steel under the Production Linked Incentive (PLI) Scheme 1.2 for specialty steel, the company announced.
Under the agreements, the parent company will invest INR 181.75 crore to establish facilities for manufacturing thin precision-gauge stainless steel sheets (0.18–0.4 mm), with a committed capacity of 116,000 tonnes per year by FY 2027–28.
Meanwhile, Sambhv Tubes Private Limited will invest INR 180 crore to add a dedicated capacity of 24,000 tonnes annually for alloy steel including stainless steel rolled long products over the same period.
The investments support India’s broader PLI 1.2 initiative, which is drawing commitments from numerous companies to boost domestic specialty steel output, a segment crucial for strategic, automotive, electrical and infrastructure applications.
