Surya Roshni Limited has earmarked INR 250 crore for its upcoming greenfield projects, INR 125 crore for Hindupur facility, and the remaining amount for the DFT plant in Gujarat & other strategic initiatives, over the next two years.

Surya Roshni Limited, during its earnings call, announced a capex plan of INR 500 crore over the next two years. The company has earmarked approximately INR 250 crore for upcoming greenfield projects, INR 125 crore for its Hindupur facility, and the remaining amount for the DFT plant in Gujarat & other strategic initiatives.
According to Mr. Raju Bista, Managing Director, Surya Roshni Limited, said, “In the export market, a significant opportunities lies in the U.S. market for the API oil and gas 5CT pipes, which also known as a casing and tubing pipe for oil exploration, where the favorable duty at reduced rate from approximately 19 percent to 2.3 percent will be applicable on the company. So we are targeting about 20,000 metric tons of quantity from this year itself.”
Discussing their expansion plans, Mr. Bista stated, “Additionally, the company is considering launching more greenfield projects and has identified potential locations such as Mumbai and Vizag. We have already purchased additional plants in Hindupur. The company plans to increase its overall annual production capacity from the current 1.2 million tonnes to nearly 2 million tonnes by the end of 2027.”
At its Hindupur facility, which is planned to be commissioned by the end of FY26, Surya Roshni is installing a new Direct Forming Technology (DFT) plant. The company plans to invest approximately INR 125 crore in the phased expansion of the Hindupur plant. Following this capex, the facility’s annual capacity is expected to increase to 1.5 lakh tonnes.
The spiral pipe production facility in Gwalior, Madhya Pradesh, commenced operations in February 2025. Post-expansion, its annual capacity will rise by 60,000 tonnes. Meanwhile, production has also begun at the cold rolling project in Bahadurgarh. The company expects this to increase the annual pipe production capacity at the Bahadurgarh facility by 1 lakh tonnes, with the cold rolling plant contributing an additional 36,000 tonnes annually.

In Bhuj, Surya Roshni has installed another DFT plant, with commercial production expected to begin by the end of this year. This will enhance the facility’s capacity by approximately 60,000 tonnes.
