TATA Steel – Tube Division Jamshedpur is bringing new levels of quality to welded tube operations in India, revolutionizing the landscape. Xiris Weld Inspection (WI) technology, a long and important mainstay of quality for TATA Steel’s Tube Division in Europe and other major global brands, was deployed at TATA Steel in Jamshedpur in December 2023. The adoption of Xiris WI technology will enhance the quality of welded tube manufacturers in India. An easy-to-interpret operator console with real-time monitoring of the weld bead area immediately post-weld ensures that anomalies and defects are detected and resolved promptly, leading to improved productivity and minimized scrap.
