Tenaris commemorated 20 years in Romania, with milestones that include investments, exports and community support initiatives. With more than 1,900 employees, Tenaris’s manufacturing footprint consists of the pipe mill in Zalău; the steel mill in Călărași; and the sucker rod mill in Câmpina, plus service centers in Ploiești and Cluj-Napoca; scrap collection centers in Popești Leordeni, Brașov and Iernut and the commercial offices in Bucharest.
“On this solid foundation, the future looks promising for both our presence in Romania and the country’s industrial development, which we are proudly part of,” said Mihaela Popescu, Tenaris Area Manager East Europe, North Sea & Sub-Saharan Africa. “We’ll keep investing and innovating, aligned with our long-term commitment,” she added.

Along with its growth and evolution, through a continuous process of investments in the plants, exceeding USD 500 million in 20 years, in the employees, in the communities, Tenaris has transformed the former Silcotub and Calarasi facilities into a world-class operation within its global industrial system, not only serving the Romanian oil and gas industry, but also exporting over 97% of its production worldwide.
