Under the contract, WCL will supply longitudinally submerged arc welded (LSAW) pipes, coating and bends to Latin America. Execution of the contract is expected in FY25.

Welspun Corp Limited (WCL), a flagship company of Welspun World, one of the fastest-growing global conglomerates, has secured an international order worth INR 611 crore to supply pipes and other items.
The Mumbai-based company recently said in an exchange filing that it has received a binding Letter of Award (LoA) for the supply of longitudinally submerged arc welded (LSAW) pipes, coating and bends in Latin America.
The contract was contingent upon certain conditions being met and would be followed by a formal Notice to Proceed or Purchase Order expected by the second week of May. The execution of this contract has been anticipated to take place in the financial year 2025 (FY25), it added.
Welspun Corp Limited is a part of the USD 5 billion Welspun World, with forays in pipe solutions and building materials. It has undertaken some of the most challenging projects around the world, namely, the world’s deepest pipeline, the world’s heaviest pipeline, and the world’s longest pipeline, among others.
As part of its business growth and diversification strategy, WCL has forayed into a state-of-the-art greenfield facility at Anjar, Gujarat to manufacture ductile iron (DI) pipes with a total production capacity of 500,000 MT per annum.

This integrated complex is equipped with the latest cutting-edge technology and includes a blast furnace that can produce 500,000 MT per annum of hot metal, along with a sinter plant, a PCI, an oxygen plant, and a coke oven.
WCL has an existing manufacturing set-up of BIS certified steel billets and direct reduced iron, which will be used as inputs for the manufacture of TMT bars. This is a step towards the company’s transformational journey from a large-scale B2C manufacturing firm with the company’s latest offering, TMT Rebars. Its facilities also boast of the manufacture of stainless steel pipes, tubes, and bars.
