Welspun Tubular LLC, a subsidiary of homegrown Welspun Corp Limited and leading global manufacturer of large-diameter line pipes, has announced an investment of USD 100 million to expand and upgrade its line pipes portfolio in its Little Rock plant at Arkansas, US.
The announcement was recently made by a team of Welspun Tubular, along with the Arkansas Economic Development Commission (AEDC) and the Little Rock Regional Chamber.
Mr. Vipul Mathur, Managing Director and CEO, Welspun Corp Limited, said, ‘‘The decision would further bolster Welspun’s leadership position in the oil & gas segment in the United States, and strengthen its presence in the global oil, liquids, gas and distribution markets. The upgraded facilities would further enable the company to tap into the growing hydrogen and carbon capture applications market in North America.’’
Welspun was expected to announce the groundbreaking ceremony for the expansion in the coming weeks. The expansion would include pipes up to a 24-inch diameter and 0.750-inch wall thickness, with capacities reaching 350 KMTPA and product grades up to X80. It would further lead to the addition of around 175 jobs at Welspun’s Little Rock plant. The production was expected to begin in early 2026, following the completion of the facility upgrades in late 2025.
