Mahesh Chandra Garg: At Tube Düsseldorf, we will showcase Goodluck India Limited’s integrated manufacturing capabilities, including ERW, CDW/DOM, cylinder and hydraulic tubes, forgings, flanges, precision tubes, structural steel, and UL-certified galvanized EMT and RIGID conduits. We will highlight our advanced automation, robust quality-control systems, consistent product reliability, and wide size range.

Our display will reflect India’s manufacturing excellence and compliance with global certifications. We will also present our ongoing expansions, positioning us among the few companies capable of producing ERW tubes up to 245 × 15 mm and CDW tubes up to 203 × 14 mm, along with our presence in forged components for defense and aerospace applications.

TPI: International trade fairs play a crucial role in shaping industry collaborations. How do platforms like Tube Düsseldorf help Indian manufacturers connect with global markets and customers?

MCG: Tube Düsseldorf helps Indian manufacturers connect directly with global customers. It allows us to understand market needs and expectations. Such platforms support building long-term and trust-based business relationships worldwide. They also strengthen India’s presence and credibility in the global steel industry.

TPI: From your participation at Tube Düsseldorf, what key global market insights are you hoping to gain and bring back to strengthen India’s tube and pipe manufacturing ecosystem?

MCG: We aim to understand new applications and evolving market needs, as well as changing international standards and the latest technological advancements in the tube industry.

As AI becomes an increasingly important part of manufacturing, we are exploring technologies related to AI, ML, and automation that can help improve product quality, reduce rejections, enhance automation, and achieve greater cost efficiency.

For this purpose, we are sending a team of five skilled engineers to explore the latest developments in the tube industry. These learnings will help strengthen India’s tube and pipe manufacturing ecosystem.

Additionally, with new environmental regulations and compliance requirements such as CBAM and Green Steel initiatives, we aim to understand and identify technologies that will help us meet the evolving demands of the European Union.

TPI: Over the years, how have you seen India’s representation evolve at international trade fairs, and how do you contribute to strengthening India’s image as a global engineering hub?

MCG: India is now recognized as a reliable and technology-driven manufacturing hub. Its image has shifted from being purely cost-focused to being quality- and capability-driven. At Goodluck, we support this transformation by delivering globally certified products. We also believe that companies need to consistently maintain the standards and benchmarks set by high-quality mills. We ensure consistent quality across all supplies, while timely execution and strong customer commitment remain our key strengths.

TPI: What core Indian manufacturing strengths differentiate you on the global stage? For what turnkey solutions is the world looking at India?

MCG: India’s key strengths include strong engineering capabilities and cost efficiency. The country also offers large-scale production with high manufacturing flexibility, making India highly competitive in global markets. Worldwide, customers increasingly look to India for complete steel tube solutions, particularly for infrastructure and construction projects. MCG: Such collaborations help Indian companies adopt advanced technologies. They support improvement in quality systems and manufacturing practices. These partnerships also help meet international compliance standards. As a result, India’s engineering capabilities become stronger. They reinforce India’s position as a trusted global engineering leader not only in India but global companies having collaboration with Indian companies benefited and help them get access to a large talent pool, cost-efficient manufacturing, and scalable production capabilities.

TPI: Which international regions do you see as strategic growth markets, and how is India positioned as your global manufacturing base to support these expansions?

MCG: Goodluck has been an exporter for the last three decades and maintains a presence in more than 100 countries. We do not focus on any single market. Despite facing significant challenges due to trade wars and tariffs, we are currently focused on maintaining our traditional markets and strengthening relationships with all existing customers, especially in the current environment where the push for localization is strong.

Goodluck remains highly focused on serving its existing customers smoothly. At the same time, as our capabilities continue to grow, we are actively exploring new markets and new applications. We see Southeast Asia and Africa as strong potential growth regions, and with the proposed EU–India Free Trade Agreement, we hope to further expand our presence in the European Union.
