PR Jindal Group, through its US-based companies Jindal Pipe USA and Jindal Tubular USA, announces an USD 87 million investment to expand its manufacturing footprint in Baytown, Texas and Bay St. Louis, Mississippi.
The expansion will include the construction of a state-of-the-art High Frequency Induction Welding (HFIW) pipe manufacturing facility in Baytown and expanded forming capabilities at the Bay St. Louis facility.
The investment reinforces the group’s long-term commitment to strengthening the domestic steel pipe supply chain and supporting critical U.S. energy infrastructure.
The new Baytown facility will produce steel pipe ranging from 4.5-14 inches in outer diameter and is expected to create approximately 140 new jobs, supporting continued economic growth and workforce development in Baytown, Bay St. Louis, and the surrounding regions.
Strategically located adjacent to the company’s existing Baytown operations, the new facility will integrate advanced manufacturing and finishing capabilities, enhancing operational efficiency, product quality, and delivery performance.
More than 90 percent of the steel used at the facility will be sourced domestically, further strengthening U.S. manufacturing and supply chain resilience. The expanded operations will support the production of critical steel pipe products used in energy infrastructure, including OCTG and line pipe applications essential to the nation’s oil and natural gas network.
The new Baytown facility will have an annual production capacity of 150,000 tonnes with a size range of 4 ½” to 14” OD for line pipe and OCTG. It will integrate with existing Baytown capabilities, including heat treatment for pipe ranging from 4-1/2” to 13-3/8” OD, threading services for pipe between 4-1/2” and 13-3/8” OD, and advanced coating services for corrosion protection, including FBE, ARO, and internal linings.
