MSP Steel and Power Limited has approved a capital expenditure programme for expansion of the company’s existing integrated steel manufacturing facilities at Raigarh, Chhattisgarh. The proposed expansion is aimed at enhancing production capacity, improving operational efficiencies, strengthening integration across the steel value chain and meeting the growing demand for the company’s products.
The expansion is within the company’s existing line of business and does not involve entry into any new product segment. The company will require NR 500 crore for the refurbishment, replacement, upgradation, repairs and maintenance of plant & machinery to ensure smooth and uninterrupted manufacturing operations.The project is proposed to be funded through a mix of debt and internal accruals/promoter contribution.
With this move, the company’s proposed capacity that will be added to the company’s existing capacity will be 6,21,800 MT. The company’s current capacity is 16,02,000 MT including sponge iron, billet and rolling mill capacity.

The implementation of the project shall be undertaken in phases and is expected to be completed within the timeline approved by the Board, subject to receipt of necessary statutory approvals and other customary conditions.
