Backed by a robust infrastructure and high-quality products, Ratnadeep Metal & Tubes Limited is looking forward to capacity enhancement projects through upgradation of technology and automation of machinery. The company is also making efforts to reduce its carbon footprint through installation of solar panels in its manufacturing unit. This was revealed by Mr. Bharatkumar Sanghavi, Chairman & Managing Director, Ratnadeep Metal & Tubes Limited, during his recent interaction with Tube & Pipe India.
Tube & Pipe India: Kindly walk us through the business journey of Ratnadeep Metal & Tubes Limited, highlighting major milestones and crucial achievements.
Bharatkumar Sanghavi: Established in 2004, we have been one of the leading manufacturers of stainless steel, carbon steel, and alloy steel pipes and tubes, in both seamless & welded execution. We are one of the most reputed tube mills in India, and recently completed two decades in the industry. Our founder Mr. Bharat S. Sanghavi has been a part of the pipe and tube industry since 1981. Ratnadeep has a strong infrastructure and a team of highly qualified and well-experienced engineers, who strive to make high quality products in professionally managed working environments with transparency and a strong belief in maintaining long-term business relationships with our customers.
TPI: Please share information about your robust infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities.
BS: Ratnadeep’s extensive manufacturing program comprises outside diameters of 3.0 mm to 323.9 mm with wall thickness of 0.5 mm to 15.00 mm. The combined annual production volume of over 12000 metric tonnes is divided among the company’s two locations, between them employing a workforce of 500. Recently, we installed two high-speed cold pilger mills to produce tubes from 10 mm OD to 38.10 mm OD. We have also installed a bright annealing furnace with a fast cooling chamber for special alloy materials & better surface roughness of tubes and pipes.
TPI: What does the product basket of Ratnadeep Metal & Tubes boast of? Which are the industries where your products find application?
BS: Our products combine quality, reliability and compliance. We manufacture stainless steel seamless tubes / pipes, u tubes, stainless steel welded tubes/pipes/u tubes, stainless steel seamless tubes (instrumentation/automobiles), nickel alloy seamless tubes/pipes, duplex/super duplex, titanium welded & seamless tubes, carbon steel & alloy steel seamless tubes/pipes/u tubes, carbon steel seamless precision & fuel injection & hydraulic tubes/pipes. The high-quality products of Ratnadeep find application in a variety of industries, such as construction, oil and gas, industrial projects, infrastructure, automotive, and general engineering.
TPI: What is the USP of Ratnadeep Metal & Tubes that gives it an edge over others?
BS: Our in-house manufacturing and testing of product mix in terms of metallurgy & size range gives us a competitive advantage, helping us to cater to a wide range of clients. My personal rich experience of 40 years in the manufacturing of tubes & pipes. All our major domestic & international end users, engineering companies & fabrication industry companies have approved us. We have a team of highly skilled and experienced employees, which provides seamless solutions to clients. Our consistency in quality and delivery plays a major role in getting repetitive business.
TPI: Kindly tell us more about your market footprint and major clientele.
BS: Ratnadeep Metal & Tubes is able to cater to a wide range of clients due to in-house manufacturing and testing of product mix in terms of metallurgy & size range. Our major users and end clients include Indian Oil Corporation Limited (IOCL), Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL), Reliance, BHEL, IFFCO, L&T, ONGC, Nayara Energy, Chennai Petroleum Corporation Limited (CPCL), SAIL, HPCL-Mittal Energy Limited (HMEL), TATA, GAIL, NRL, CAIRN, etc. We also have a presence in the international market with clients spread across Europe, the Middle East & Southeast Asia.
We aim to commence backward integration with in-house manufacturing of raw materials (mother hollows) by mid-2025, which will enhance our finished output by 15000 MTPA.
TPI: Tell us about your future plans.
BS: We aim to focus on a green environment, for which we have already installed 499 KVA solar panels in our manufacturing unit. Additionally, we plan to install another 730 KVA solar panels to further reduce carbon emissions. We have also planned capacity enhancement projects by upgrading technology & automation of machinery. We aim to commence backward integration with in-house manufacturing of raw materials (mother hollows) by mid-2025, which will enhance our finished output by 15000 MTPA. We want to supply high-quality products and related services & solutions to a worldwide client base, while utilizing innovative technologies.

TPI: Kindly share your views on trade fairs. How do you think such events help the industry?
BS: We believe trade fairs are a great way to meet people, revive old connections and make new ones. They can be called a versatile marketing tool as they bring together the whole industry, including the manufacturers, suppliers, buyers and traders under one roof, thus giving every stake holder a good opportunity to connect with the best and make their business known. Besides giving recognition to a company, these fairs also enable the businesses to analyze themselves, as well as sell products & services in a competitive environment.
They can also be used as market research instruments to know customer needs and feedback for
new product launches.
TPI: What are your expectations from Tube & Pipe Fair 2024?
BS: Ratnadeep is looking forward to the Tube & Pipe Fair 2024, to be held at Hitex Exhibition Center, Hyderabad from August 5 to 7. It will provide us with a great opportunity to mingle with existing customers and potential clients. We are also pinning our hopes on TPF 2024 to give us information on product launches, innovations, new materials, machines and processes, along with current trends driving the industry.
