The integration of these two plants has optimized our operations and profitability through backward integration, which helps with efficient logistics, inventory management, procurement, energy savings and quality control.

In December 2022, we acquired a full-fledged setup of a galvanized pipe plant in Perundurai, Tamil Nadu. With a strategic location covering ~14 acres in the SIPCOT Industrial Growth Centre, the plant has enhanced our capacity, product portfolio, and geographical reach. RKG: We are committed to reducing our environmental footprint through a systematic and process-oriented approach. We persistently attempt to minimize any adverse impact of our operations on the people, planet and communities we work with. Our operations are conducted under the aegis of the foundational principles of ‘reduce’ and ‘recycle’ for sustainable value creation. As a testament to this commitment, we recycle scrap steel as a primary material in our production process. As I mentioned earlier, hot charging technology at our integrated steel plant reduced carbon emissions by eliminating the need to reheat metal. Our galvanized pipe manufacturing plant at Mahbubnagar is the first pipe manufacturing unit in India that is powered by solar power.

Hariom Pipe Industries is celebrating sustainable innovation and welcoming a new era of green energy with our new bio-gas fuel initiative. Powered by Indian Oil, this clean gas will fuel our progress with lower emission levels as compared to other regular industrial fuels.

Additionally, we have reduced our freshwater consumption by 1.75% and undertaken several measures for recycling and harvesting this resource. Our Mahbubnagar plant has zero liquid discharge. Alignment of water conservation is an essential factor while making decisions.

We monitor and strategize any impact that our operations may have on air quality and the implications that this may have on employees and local communities. We also take part in various initiatives, such as planting trees to increase the green cover in areas surrounding the factory, especially under the government’s flagship programme, the Telangana Haritha Haram scheme.
