Laxmi Pipe Industries has recently introduced PVD-coated stainless steel pipes, featuring unique designs and colour variations, to provide speciality solutions to its customers. In an exclusive interview with Tube & Pipe India, Mr. Vipul Vaghasiya, MD & CEO of Laxmi Pipe Industries revealed that the company is investing about INR 7 to 8 crore in a PVD Projects in Surat, Gujarat. The plant is expected to be completed within the next two months. It will produce 20-foot-long PVD-coated stainless steel pipes, positioning it as India’s first facility for the indigenous production of such pipes.

Tube & Pipe India: Tell us briefly about the company?

Vipul Vaghasiya: Laxmi Pipe Industries is one of the leading manufacturers of stainless-steel slotted pipes and PVD pipes, with its manufacturing facility located in Surat, Gujarat.

With over 15 years of experience, our company has an extensive network of over 50 channel partners ensuring prompt deliveries, and reliable services across India and beyond. The company has a loyal customer base and consistently strives for customer satisfaction through method, processes, and resources, and adheres to statutory and regulatory compliances to ensure quality and industry-ready products.

TPI: Can you tell us about your product portfolio?

VV: We deal in stainless steel pipes, stainless steel slotted pipes, stainless steel PVD (Physical Vapour Deposition) pipes and stainless steel PVD pipes fittings, stainless steel glass railing fitting and stainless powder steel coated pipe.

TPI: What is the production capacity of your pipe segment?

VV: Our production capacity for regular pipes stands at 200 metric tonnes per month, with actual production currently averaging approximately 150 to 180 metric tonnes per month.

TPI: Can you tell us about a recent development in your company?

VV: We have recently introduced PVD-coated pipes that come in unique designs and colour variations such as rose gold, black and wooden finishing. These PVD coated pipes not only enhance durability but also give a premium look to the pipes. These pipes are also called decorative pipes and are mainly used in the railings and furniture segments.

TPI: What are your brand USPs that sets you apart from your competitors? How do you ensure quality products for your customers?

TPI: How do the government policies and initiatives impact your business?

VV: The government has recently imposed anti-dumping duties on stainless steel pipes and tubes imported from countries like China, Vietnam, and Thailand, giving a significant boost to Indian manufacturers. Previously, PVD-coated products were also largely imported from China. However, with the introduction of new government policies aimed at restraining high volume of imports and encouraging domestic production, along with a strong push for infrastructure development, the demand for locally manufactured products has increased substantially, creating new opportunities for our offerings in the domestic market.

TPI: What are your plans for future growth?

VV: We are investing about INR 7-8 crore in PVD project in Surat, Gujarat. The new facility will produce 20-feet long PVD pipes for the customers. The construction of the facility will be completed in two months, making it India’s first facility creating a 20-feet PVD-coated stainless steel pipe segment. This marks a significant milestone for Laxmi Pipe Industries as it paves the way for indigenous manufacturing of such high-quality PVD-coated pipes and reduces our dependence on imports.
