ONGC Unveils INR 4,600 Crore Plan for Oil and Gas Infrastructure in Andhra Pradesh

ONGC plans to invest INR 4,600 crore Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district, targeting significant expansion of oil and gas infrastructure. The investment includes drilling 10 development wells, laying an offshore pipeline, and setting up an onshore gas processing facility among others.

State-owned Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has unveiled plans to invest over INR 4,600 crore in Andhra Pradesh’s Konaseema district, targeting significant expansion of oil and gas infrastructure in the Krishna-Godavari (KG) Basin. The investment includes drilling 10 development wells, installing two unmanned platforms, laying an offshore pipeline, and setting up an onshore gas processing facility.

ONGC has approached the Ministry of Environment for environmental clearance, following the request from the Expert Appraisal Committee (EAC) to conduct a thorough biodiversity assessment and formulate an environmental restoration plan. The project is expected to generate approximately 150 direct jobs and 310 indirect jobs upon execution.
