The Maharashtra government has inked nine Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with prominent industrial players on September 19, 2025, bringing in investments worth INR 80,962 crore at the Steel Mahakumbh held in Goregaon, Mumbai.
The MoUs were formalized in the presence of Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, Union Minister Pralhad Joshi, and Industries Minister Uday Samant, with the projects expected to generate significant employment opportunities across multiple districts including Gadchiroli, Chandrapur, Nagpur, Wardha, Raigad, Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar, and Satara.
Among the major announcements, Rashmi Metallurgical Industries committed INR 25,000 crore for an integrated steel plant in Wardha, while Jindal Stainless will invest INR 41,580 crore in a stainless-steel manufacturing facility in Raigad.
Other notable projects include NPSPL Advanced Material (Atha Group) setting up a lithium battery material and carbon complex worth INR 5,440 crore in Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar. In Gadchiroli, a joint venture between Sumedh Tools and Hariom Pipe Industries will bring in investments of INR 5,135 crore.

Additionally, companies such as Icon Steel, Filtrum Autocomp, G R Krishna Ferro Alloys, and Jaydeep Steelwork India will establish new industrial units, further strengthening the state’s position as a hub for steel and allied industries.
