Rashmi Group plans to set up an integrated steel plant, along with a captive power plant, in Purulia, West Bengal. The company will invest around INR 10,000 crore by 2030 to establish the plant.
The state government has allotted 938 acres of land for the proposed project. The integrated steel plant will have a production capacity of 2.8 million tonnes per annum, along with a 400 MW captive power plant.

The proposed expansion is part of the group’s broader growth strategy. It currently operates around 8 metric tonnes per annum of integrated iron and steel capacity in West Bengal’s Kharagpur and Jhargram. It also operates a 1.9 metric tonnes per annum cement manufacturing facility and generates 1050 MW of power through captive plants and independent power projects. In addition, it is developing five coal mine blocks in West Bengal and Jharkhand.
