This was revealed by Mr. Jullian Jalan and Mr. Sandeep Kumar Jalan, Co-founders & Directors of A-One Steel Group, during their joint interaction with the Tube & Pipe India.
Tube & Pipe India: Kindly share A-One Steel Group’s business journey, major milestones, and crucial achievements.
Jullian Jalan: Our journey began in Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh with a single furnace producing MS ingot, marking the start of our industrial operations. Since 2010, A-One Steel Group has expanded significantly, beginning with a steel mill in Hindupur and progressing to installing a continuous cutting machine for MS billets in 2011. In 2013, we started a new facility in Gowribidanur, Karnataka, producing TMT rods using advanced German technology (Thermex) and MS. Our development continued with the establishment of a full-scale steel mill in Bellary, Karnataka in 2017, capable of producing WHRB-based energy and sponge steel, MS billet, HR coils, MS pipes, and tubes. In 2018, we expanded to Hospet and Koppal and ventured into green energy with wind and solar power. As of 2021, we have diversified our product range to include cold-rolled and galvanized tubes and pipes.
Throughout our journey, we have achieved numerous milestones. Our achievements include setting the industry standard with TMT bar technology and becoming an award-winning and fastest-growing TMT brand. We are one of India’s leading TMT manufacturers with the largest customer base across six states. We are proud to be the only steel company to receive the Karnataka State Safety Award, demonstrating our commitment to safety and sustainability. A-One Steel Group continues to drive growth and excellence, guided by our vision of ‘Rashtra Nirman Mein Samarpit’ (Commitment to Nation Building).
TPI: You have an impressive capacity of around 1.5 million MTPA. Please tell us more about your infrastructure and manufacturing capabilities.
JJ: Steelmaking is the process of producing steel from iron ore and/or scrap. Our manufacturing capabilities include producing sponge iron from iron ore and processing the finest form of raw materials to create blooms, which are the source of the highest quality steel bars. We also use Thermex technology, through which we produce German rolling mills, pipes & tubes, and hot rolled steel.
TPI: What does the product basket of A-One Steel Group look like? Which sectors find application for your products?
JJ: Our wide product range includes ferro-silicon, coke, TMT rods, MS rods, pipes and tubes, hot and cold-rolled products, galvanized pipes, and sponge iron. These products are used in the construction and infrastructure industries, agriculture industries, oil sector, engineering, railways, and energy sectors.
TPI: What is the USP of your company that gives you an edge over others?

A-One Steel Group has played a significant role both nationally and internationally, with a presence in more than 15 countries and the completion of over 1,000 projects. We have a wide range of clients in India and across the world.
TPI: Research plays an important role in the growth of a company. Please elaborate.
Sandeep Kumar Jalan: Sustainability, eco-friendliness, and energy efficiency are core values of A-One Steel. Our research and development teams have adopted technologies that optimize available resources while minimizing environmental impact. We have established laboratories in all functional areas, equipped with modern equipment.
TPI: How do you plan to enhance your business presence in India as well as globally?
SKJ: We plan to enhance our business presence by expanding our manufacturing capacity, investing in advanced technology, and strengthening our distribution network in India. Globally, we aim to increase our sales through strategic partnerships, continuous innovation, and a strong focus on consistency and quality across all our products. Gradually, we are increasing our production size range and volume, especially in the ERW steel pipes production unit in Bellary.
TPI: Kindly share your views on trade fairs. How do you think such events help the industry?
SKJ: Trade shows are useful for companies as they provide a platform to present new products, connect with key players, and gain knowledge about the market. They drive business growth by connecting customers with potential partners, fostering relationships, and improving brand visibility on a global scale.
