Jindal Stainless Signs MoU with Ministry of Steel Under PLI 1.2 Scheme

Jindal Stainless signed an MoU with the Ministry of Steel to expand speciality stainless steel capacity under PLI 1.2.

Jindal Stainless has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Ministry of Steel, Government of India, under the newly launched Production Linked Incentive (PLI) 1.2 scheme for speciality steel. 

The agreement marks a significant step towards expanding capacity in speciality and stainless steel grades critical for strategic sectors such as railways, defence and aerospace. Managing Director Abhyuday Jindal said the policy strengthens industry confidence to invest in advanced manufacturing and supports the development of a resilient, future-ready stainless steel ecosystem in India.

The PLI 1.2 scheme, under which 85 MoUs have been signed across 55 companies, aims to boost domestic capacity, reduce import dependence and integrate Indian steelmakers into global value chains.
