Kalyani Group has put forward a proposal to establish Odisha’s first aerospace and defence manufacturing complex in Gajamara with an investment of INR 26,000 crore.

Kalyani Steel Limited, part of the Kalyani Group, is planning to set up Odisha’s first aerospace and defence manufacturing complex. The company has proposed an investment of INR 26,000 crore to establish a titanium metal and aerospace manufacturing and integrated advanced specialty steel and automotive components manufacturing complex at Gajamara, Odisha. A special incentive has also been approved by the Cabinet, underscoring the Government’s commitment to promoting the ambitious project and fostering a conducive environment for growth and innovation, especially in the high-potential sectors of aerospace, defence, and automotive manufacturing.
Approximately 12,000 jobs are expected to be generated through the project, initiating a new era of industrial growth and job creation in the state. The project is expected to attract vendors in areas of manufacturing and service sectors providing a boost to the local MSME and start-ups. The state government is passionate about this collaboration with the Kalyani Group and will provide all necessary support for the completion of these projects. The government is looking forward to such initiatives as these projects will mark a new chapter in the state’s journey towards becoming a hub of manufacturing excellence.
