Punjab has attracted a INR 1,003.57 crore greenfield investment from AISRM Multimetals Private Limited to set up a modern special steel manufacturing facility in Village Jaspallon on Doraha–Khanna Road, Ludhiana district, officials said.
The project, spread over about 46 acres, will be implemented in three phases, with the first phase targeted to start by September 2027.
Once operational, the unit will have an installed capacity of 5.40 lakh MTPA and produce round bars, wire rods, coils and flats using scrap and ferro alloys. Plans call for triple-shift operations for approximately 350 days a year.
Punjab Industries, Commerce, Investment Promotion and Power Minister Sanjeev Arora said the facility will be equipped with advanced steelmaking technologies such as induction furnaces, electric arc furnace (EAF), vacuum degassing and continuous casting machines to support high-quality alloy production.
