Sambhv Steel Tubes is entering a new phase of growth with a clearly defined expansion roadmap and key regulatory clearances. With environmental clearance secured for its greenfield integrated steel complex in Chhattisgarh, the company is moving ahead with plans to significantly scale capacity while strengthening backward integration. Alongside phased capacity expansion, Sambhv is sharpening its focus on value-added and specialized steel tube products aligned with infrastructure and industrial demand. In an exclusive interview with Tube & Pipe India, Mr. Vikas Goyal, CEO & Managing Director, Sambhv Steel Tubes Limited, outlines how these initiatives fit into the company’s long-term vision of building a sustainable, competitive, and diversified steel business grounded in quality and operational discipline.

Tube & Pipe India: Sambhv Steel Tubes Limited recently secured environmental clearance for a major greenfield project. What does this milestone signify for the company?
Vikas Goyal: We are pleased to have gained environmental clearance for our integrated steel complex at Village Kesda in Chhattisgarh. This approval enables us to proceed with execution of the facility, which will include manufacturing of stainless coils with complete backward integration , along with supporting infrastructure like power plant and dedicated power transmission line. It’s a crucial regulatory milestone that clears the way for project implementation.
TPI: How is the company progressing with its capacity expansion plans?
VG: Our greenfield expansion at Kesda is planned in three phases to eventually add 1.2 million tonnes of finished product capacity. Phase 1, targeting stainless steel products, is expected to be commissioned by the last quarter of the financial year 2027. We have already completed land acquisition, obtained key approvals, imported Hot Rolling (HR) Mill having a capacity of 1.2 million tonnes and are now moving steadily toward scaling up our production footprint.

TPI: The company has been diversifying its product mix. What’s driving this strategic focus?
VG: We are shifting from commodity-grade products toward value-added and specialized offerings tailored to evolving market demand. This includes coated, galvanized and stainless steel products designed for infrastructure, solar, telecom, HVAC, automotive and other high-growth sectors. Our backward-integration strategy supports quality, cost competitiveness and timely delivery across these segments.
TPI: Sambhv Steel Tubes Limited has been consistently expanding its manufacturing footprint. How does this expansion align with your long-term growth strategy?
VG: Our expansion plans are closely aligned with strengthening our core manufacturing capabilities and meeting rising demand more efficiently. By enhancing capacity and improving operational scale, we are focused on ensuring consistent supply, better cost control, and improved service to customers across key application segments. This phased and planned expansion supports sustainable growth while allowing us to maintain product quality and operational discipline.

VG: Our goal is to build a sustainable and competitive integrated steel business with robust backward integration, diversified offerings and strategic capacity increases.
