Welspun Corp has signed an MoU with Perma-Pipe and the Jordanian government to develop pipe manufacturing and coating facilities in Jordan, targeting water, oil & gas, energy and infrastructure projects across the country and the wider Levant region.

Welspun Corp Limited has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Perma-Pipe International Holdings, Inc., developers of Jordan’s National Water Carrier Project, and the Government of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan to establish pipe manufacturing and coating facilities in Jordan.

The proposed venture will combine Welspun Corp’s expertise in large-diameter steel pipe manufacturing with Perma-Pipe’s anti-corrosion coating technologies. The facilities are expected to serve major infrastructure projects in Jordan and neighbouring markets, including Syria, Lebanon and Iraq, while strengthening regional supply chains and local manufacturing capabilities.

The companies are currently evaluating the technical, commercial, financial and regulatory aspects of the project, including manufacturing capacity, coating technology and regulatory approvals. Investment and ownership details will be disclosed as the project progresses. The initiative is also aligned with Jordan’s National Water Carrier Project, a major pipeline network being developed to strengthen the Kingdom’s long-term water security.
