Shyam Metalics and Energy Limited, through its subsidiary SMEL Steel Structural Pvt. Ltd., will launch a new aluminium manufacturing facility in Sambalpur, Odisha, representing a strategic expansion into value-added aluminium products and enhancing India’s downstream metal capabilities.

The new facility has an installed capacity of 60,000 TPA for Aluminium Flat Rolled Products (FRP) with a thickness ranging from 0.3 to 4.0 mm. Additionally, it will produce Aluminium foils with a capacity of 18,000 TPA, within a thickness ranging from 6 to 40 microns. 

The goal of this expansion is to diversify Shyam Metalics‘ product offerings and address the growing demand for high-quality metal products across various industries. The new facility is expected to contribute substantially to revenue growth, supported by increasing market reach and higher product realisation. The project will also enhance Shyam Metalics’ integrated manufacturing ecosystem, strengthening its downstream capabilities and enabling expansion into high-growth segments.

The facility’s location offers logistical access to key demand centres and supporting seamless distribution across domestic and international markets. The project is expected to generate significant employment opportunities in the region and contribute to the socio-economic development of Odisha.
