APL Apollo to Add 2 MTPA Capacity Through New Plants, 1 MTPA via Debottlenecking

APL Apollo Tubes will increase its total manufacturing capacity by adding 2 million tonnes per annum through new plants and 1 million tonnes per annum through debottlenecking across its existing plants. The expansion is aimed at enhancing the share of value-added products in its portfolio while strengthening its presence in key regional markets.

APL Apollo Tubes Limited revealed plans to add 2 million tonnes of new manufacturing capacity over the next two-and-a-half years, in addition to 1 million tonnes through debottlenecking across its existing plants. The expansion pipeline includes a 200,000 TPA plant at Gorakhpur, a 300,000 TPA facility at Siliguri, a 1 million TPA plant at New Malur, and another 500,000 TPA plant under consideration in either Maharashtra or North Karnataka.

According to the company, the new capacities will begin coming on stream in phases from the second half of FY27 and continue through FY28, supporting its long-term growth strategy. Management said the additional capacity, together with debottlenecking initiatives, will help increase the share of value-added products in its portfolio from the current 65 per cent to 75-80 per cent. Also, management expects the facility to deliver EBITDA of INR 8,000 plus and play a key role in improving the company’s product mix.
