APL Apollo Tubes Limited has outlined a major capacity expansion programme to increase its manufacturing capacity from 5 million tonnes to 8 million tonnes by FY28. The expansion will be funded through internal cash flows, without debt or equity dilution.

A key part of the programme involves unlocking an additional 1 million tonnes of capacity through systematic debottlenecking across its existing manufacturing network. The company expects to enhance output and asset utilisation through process optimisation without constructing new plants.

The remaining 2 million tonnes of capacity will come through new manufacturing facilities and targeted market expansion. APL Apollo is developing greenfield facilities at Gorakhpur, West Bengal, New Malur and the Western Coastal region, while also expanding its Dubai facility to 0.5 million tonnes to strengthen its international manufacturing footprint.

The expansion is aimed at strengthening APL Apollo’s presence in underpenetrated domestic markets, supporting export growth and addressing capacity gaps across product segments, including roofing and light structural solutions.
