JSW Steel has selected ANDRITZ to supply a continuous galvanising line at its Toranagallu, Karnataka plant. The 5,00,000-tonne annual capacity line will produce galvanized steel, including Advanced High-Strength Steel grades, for automotive applications.

JSW Steel Ltd. has selected ANDRITZ to supply a continuous galvanising line for its steel plant in Toranagallu, Karnataka. The line will produce high-quality galvanised steel, including Advanced High-Strength Steel (AHSS) grades, for automotive applications.

The new line will support JSW Steel in meeting the growing demand for lightweight, high-strength materials for fuel-efficient and electric vehicles while expanding its portfolio of value-added steel products.

With an annual capacity of 5,00,000 tonnes, the line will process steel strips up to 1,900 mm wide and 2.60 mm thick, including AHSS grades with tensile strengths of up to 1,480 MPa. Designed for speeds of up to 180 m/min, the line is scheduled to start up in 2028.

ANDRITZ will provide the complete line, including the chemical cleaning section, furnace, coating pot, after-pot cooling, skin pass mill, tension leveling line and post-treatment section. The line is designed to deliver superior surface quality, precise coating control and consistent metallurgical properties.

The order reinforces the long-standing partnership between ANDRITZ and JSW Steel. The order value will not be disclosed.
