Hi-Tech Pipes Limited is stepping up its capacity expansion programme to strengthen its position across the steel tubes and pipes market, with plans to add 1 million tonnes of capacity over the next two to three years and take its total capacity to 2 million tonnes by FY29. The company is advancing expansion projects across Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh and Gujarat, while increasing its focus on value-added products and specialised pipe segments.

The expansion programme includes the DFT facility at Sanand Unit-II Phase-3, which is expected to be operational by Q3 FY27, and an API pipes facility targeted for readiness by Q4 FY27. At Hindupur in Andhra Pradesh, construction is progressing on an integrated manufacturing facility for ERW tubes, specialised solar tubes and other value-added steel products, with commissioning expected by Q4 FY27.

The company has estimated INR 650 crore of capex for the additional 1 million tonnes of capacity, including around INR 200 crore to be spent in FY27. Part of the investment has already been incurred, with the remaining expenditure to be spread across FY28 and FY29.
